Janet Joosten - Psychotherapist (Adults)
I am a UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registered psychotherapist, Integrative Counsellor and CBT Therapist with over 22 years of counselling experience and I specialize in individual counselling with adults. It has been an honour to provide counselling within the community - including schools, the prison service and healthcare – as well as in corporate settings and in private practice. I am passionate about helping my clients cultivate awareness and clarity in their lives, and to discover their inner wisdom and capacity for growth and healing.

At times, we can become stuck in old habits, patterns, behaviour and fears that no longer serve us and get in the way of authentic and meaningful relationships with ourselves and other people, keeping us from feeling inner peace and happiness. Using a holistic, integrative and collaborative approach I will support you to skilfully navigate through the suffering and difficulties life throws at us and connect you with your inner strength and resilience for emotional and mental wellbeing.

My main aim is to make therapy accessible to all. I am passionate about working with those who are experiencing life transitions associated with becoming older. I am also passionate about working with people at the end of their lives or who are terminally ill. I consider it vital that I maintain an open mind to the presence of gender, racial, cultural and socio-economic diversity and to be aware of unintentional bias that could greatly influence the counselling process.

I am closely bound by and accountable to the UKCP code of ethics and practice. I undertake regular supervision for my work subject to this code of ethics. I am also a professional member of the Society for Existential Analysis.

I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you with the next step in your healing journey.
