Support for you
We occupy a beautiful period building in the market town of Olney, which sits on the borders of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, surrounded by tranquil countryside and the river Ouse. Our therapy rooms are colourful, warm and welcoming, and come fully equipped to be used for talking therapies, arts therapies and body therapies. Our group of professionals offer counselling, psychotherapy, arts therapies and somatic therapies. This is a space where emotional, mental and psychological distress can be processed in a safe, contained and confidential environment. Each therapist has their own style, quality and professional expertise to receive and hold whatever material you feel you wish to bring. Your therapist will walk alongside you as you explore new paths in your life, and move from the stuckness into the light.
Our beautiful space is also available for professionals to use for therapeutic work. By joining our community of therapists, you will have the opportunity to be nourished by other professionals in CPD, networking and skills share events.
Support for us
We offer professional therapeutic support to individual adults, couples, children, young people and families. Our range of therapists also offer a range of fees, including low cost affordable talking therapy. One size doesn't always fit all, and with this in mind, we carefully assess what your needs are in order to offer you the most effective treatment. We understand that by reaching out for some professional therapeutic support, you have already chosen to give yourself some space, away from the everyday things in your life. That’s already a massive step. Once you’re here, this becomes your space. You choose who you work with, how to use your space, and what to bring into it.
You can use the space to talk about your thoughts, feelings and experiences. You can explore and reflect upon your life situation. Your therapist will listen - without judging - and help you to express yourself to the fullest. Sometimes a few sessions of brief counselling is enough to help you move forward. Sometimes, longer term psychotherapy is needed to explore and work through underlying issues, like low self worth or negative relational patterns. There are therapists who will offer you the opportunity to use creative techniques and embodied techniques which can deepen the understanding of your experience and in particular the processing of trauma. Whatever you do here, it's always your choice.
For organisations and businesses we also offer a range of professional services in the form of training, workshops, consultation and reflective practice. Our therapists are not only highly skilled, but also experienced in many different fields. So if your organisation is looking for input into a mental health at work day, or a staff training session on managing stress, or ways to address difficult organisational dynamics, we can put together a bespoke package to address your needs. This includes our Being Well Programme for frontline staff.
Support for the community
Research suggests that one of the key elements of effective therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. We believe that without a strong working therapeutic relationship, the work of therapy is peripheral. Therefore, the therapists who work here, work first and foremost on building a safe therapeutic relationship with you. Each therapist has their own style and expertise, but we all hold the therapeutic relationship as central to the work of therapy. In this way, coming here will give you not just a choice of therapies and therapists, but you can also be assured that you will be given the personal touch. No automated systems! Learn more about our practitioners.
We choose to work with each other collaboratively, which means that if one professional has a particular expertise, it can be shared with others in the community. That way, everyone benefits from research, knowledge and understanding, and each person in nourished and supported to do the important work of supporting you.
