Dance Movement Psychotherapy

Monika Ptasinska

I am a registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP) who practices within the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP UK) professional code of ethics since 2011 and I am a member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). I am also certified facilitator for Authentic Movement and for Dance of Awareness discipline focused on developmental stages. I run movement psychotherapy groups sessions and one to one therapeutic sessions.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, humanistic and person-centred, based on the secure attachment and relationship with the therapist. My work is influenced by Jung, Rogers, Bartenieff and Chase. I am trained for Kestenberg movement profiling. My experiences working with clients are from many diverse settings. I can help with anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, dissociation, health related issues as my work is related with the body and the body memories.

We will work creatively and embodied methods can be used if needed to help to uncover, recover and discover the issues more deeply if there are no more words to describe to express how you feel. Please wear comfortable clothing for potential movement during the session.
