I am a registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP) who, since 2011, has practiced within the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP UK) professional code of ethics. I am also a member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). I am a certified facilitator for the Authentic Movement discipline and for the Dance of Awareness approach focused on developmental stages. I run movement psychotherapy groups sessions and also one-to-one psychotherapy sessions.
My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, humanistic and person-centred, based on the attachment theory. My work is influenced by Jung, Rogers, Bowlby, Yalom, Bartenieff and Chase. I am also training for Kestenberg Movement profiling. I have experience working with clients from many diverse settings and I specialize in working with body dysmorphic disorder, eating disorders, anxiety and low self-esteem. My work is related to the body and the body memories; integrating non-verbal with verbal.
We will work creatively and embodied methods can be used, if needed, to help to uncover, recover and discover the issues more deeply if there are no more words to describe how you feel. Please wear comfortable clothing for potential movement during the session.
