Liz Burr - Counsellor (Adults & young people 8+)
Hello, I’m Liz, a qualified counsellor working primarily with adults as well as young people aged 8+.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. I offer a safe, respectful and confidential space where you can explore whatever feels difficult or stuck in your life.

I work using Transactional Analysis (TA), a practical and accessible approach that helps us understand how early experiences may still be shaping the way we relate to ourselves and others today. As adults, we can find ourselves repeating patterns that once protected us but no longer serve us. Together, we gently explore these patterns, building self-awareness, choice and the possibility for meaningful change.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked for many years as a nurse and later as a specialist advisor for people living with life-limiting neurological conditions, where providing emotional support to individuals and their carers formed an important part of my role. I have also worked within NHS and charity sector mental health services including Recovery Lounges (formerly known as Crisis Cafés) supporting adults facing a wide range of challenges.

Alongside my adult practice, I also work with children and young people aged 8+, with experience in primary school settings.

I am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I am also part of BodhiSpace’s Central Team, providing initial clinical assessments and helping clients connect with a therapist who feels like the right fit.

I look forward to welcoming you into a collaborative space where you can feel heard, supported and able to grow at your own pace.
