Anna Smith - Integrative Psychotherapist (Adults, young people & children 3+)
I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I have worked predominantly with children and families within schools and private practice, supporting them through family issues, developmental difficulties and trauma. I have worked alongside schools, children's social care and other local authority organisations and have extensive training, knowledge and experience of safeguarding. I have a special interest in how the needs of a child impact the family set up, and how the family unit impacts a child.
I also work for a company called Rareminds who support adults of all ages who are impacted by rare, genetic conditions or diseases. In this work I provide therapy to patients dealing with rare conditions, as well as providing therapy to family members, parents, siblings and carers. As part of this work I have taken part in a podcast with Genomics England discussing barriers to healthcare for minority groups, with my focus being on the Gypsy, Romany and Traveller community.
Empathy, acceptance and respect are at the heart of my work.
